ACTIVITIES OF SRI
DWARKADHISH CHARITIES |
|
|
|
One of the basic objectives of
Sri Dwarkadhish Charities is to uplift people
from all sections of the society irrespective of
their caste, creed and religion, socially,
economically and spiritually. Since inception,
we are very keen in observing fulfilment of the
basic objective of the trust. Apart from pooja
and worship of Lord Dwarkadhish to attain
spiritual upliftment of the society in general,
we have also focused on the socio-economic
aspects of human life. The trust had undertaken
and completed following social objectives. |

A MEDICAL SERVICE CENTRE
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
In the name of our Param Guru
Poojya Leelatai Karve, a medical service centre,
namely Sri Leela Chikitsalaya, was established
and commenced from 2nd July, 2004 for
the benefit of villagers in the surrounding
rural areas. The centre is well equipped with
all the necessary medical gadgets and equipments
including an oxygen cylinder. Expert doctors
from all the three major medical faculties i.e.
Alopathy, Homeopathy and Ayurveda treated in
last two years over 3,200 patients from over 50
villages from Pen, Panvel, Khalapur Tahasils of
Raigad district. A proper medical record of the
patients has been maintained alongwith the
socio-economic information regarding their
families. The consultation at the centre is
totally free and medicines are available at a
nominal charges of just Rs. 7/- per week or Rs.
25/- per month. The quality of medicines is
maintained as per required standards and are
dispensed by qualified physicians. Dr. Vivek
Rege heads the panel of doctors and the
management is looked after by Dr. Mayuresh
Pimputkar. |

ABULANCE SERVICE
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
Lack of medical facilities in the
rural area are often cause for high mortality
rate. In case of emergencies, if the patients
are treated on time and taken to a nearby
hospital, where advance medical facilities are
available, the chances of survival of patients
are bright. Considering this need, we decided
to start an Ambulance service for the benefit of
people from nearby villages and have recently
acquired a brand new Maruti Omni Ambulance with
oxygen and suction facility available on board
and the same has been put into operation with
effect from 10th February, 2006. The
ambulance services are provided on no profit no
loss basis and we have contacted the Surpanch
and Gramsevak from the nearby villages and
informed them that the service will be
available from their respective village to the
nearest equipped hospital in Pen, Panvel,
Rasayani, Navi Mumbai and Mumbai. |
|
|
|
|
We also have a plan to start a
Mobile Dispensary for the villagers in remote
areas where the medical aid is required and the
patients have to spend in traveling upto to the
nearest Dispensary or Health Centre. We intend
to take medical help to their door step by
starting the Mobile Dispensary. |

Over 1,000 patients took the

considering the overall condition of
malnutrition in these areas. About 250 patients
were examined in the Gynec Camp and 75
patients were subsequently treated with suitable
medicines and further investigations. About 168
patients out of 260 patients examined in the
Opthomological Camp were distributed free
spectacles and 24 patients suffering from
cataract were operated free of cost at a well
equipped hospital. We express our special
gratitude to M/s. S. Hardilia Pvt. Ltd., Dr.
Karnik’s Path Lab and Dr. Sangamnerkar’s
Hospital, Pune and Charak Pharmaceuticals
for their extra-ordinary support and services in
making those camps a grand success. In future we
intend to take a special camp for general
hygiene and eye check-up for the students in
neighboring villages who are becoming victims
various health problems at early age. |

PUBLICATION OF BOOKS
|
|
|
|
|
We believe in spreading the
knowledge by way of publishing important books
and making them available to general public at
subsidized cost. We have observed that the
philosophy of human life told by Lord Krishna in
the holy Bhagwad Geeta has not reached to
the grass root of Hindus spread all over the
country. We have therefore, made an attempt to
convey the teachings of Bhagwad Geeta in most
simple language and form. The trust has
published so far two books on Bhagwad Geeta,
namely, “Vishwamohini Geeta” written by
Dr. Shriram Bhatkhande, a well known
Sanskrit Scholar from Thane and “Vasudev
Vagvenu” written by Dr. Uma Vaidya,
Head of Department of Sanskrit, University of
Mumbai. Both the books are available at
subsidized cost at our temple premises. The
trust has plans to publish some more books
through a separate institution devoted totally
to research work in the field of education.
Recently we published a book written by famous
author & scholar Dr. G.B. Deglurkar on Bhagwan
Vishnu, titled "Vishnumoorte
Namastubhyam". |
|
|
|
 |
DISTRIBUTION OF UNIFORMS
AND BOOKS |
|
|
|
|
Right from inception the trust is
distributing uniforms, books and notebooks to
the poor and needy students in the nearby
villages namely Tara & Kharapada. In the last
ten years about thousand students have been
benefited by this scheme. |
|
|
|
 |
FINANCIAL HELP FOR
SURGERIES ETC |
|
|
|
|
Poor patients from the villages
do not have enough money to carry out
investigation and perform surgeries even for
life threatening ailments. We believe in
extending financial support for such cause. We
have so far extended financial help to
Fifteen
patients for surgeries (including a neuro
surgery) and specialized medical treatment.

FINANCIAL SUPPORT FOR EDUCATION
|
|
|
|
|
With the exposure to the modern
techniques of knowledge the overall intelligence
level in the rural area has considerably
increased. However, due to poor financial
conditions, highly intelligent students cannot
afford higher and post graduation education. In
last ten years, we have helped five such
brilliant students, who could successfully
complete their education and have got suitable
jobs for their livelihood. |
